Comparison of 2 kg medicine ball chest throws across playing standards for each age category. There were significant mean differences (p < 0.05) in test scores between the U19 s and U16 for elite, sub-elite and non-rugby. For U16 s, 2 kg MBCT test showed good discriminative validity in differentiating elite from both sub-elite and non-rugby players but failed to distinguish sub-elite from non-rugby players. At U19 level, elite rugby players were significantly better than both sub-elite and non-rugby players, and sub-elite were also significantly better from non-rugby players.
